About Chris
Chris Lincoln is a copywriter and creative director whose work has received numerous awards for creative excellence, including a Clio, advertising’s Oscar. He was educated at Middlebury College and has studied at The Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference.
He is the author of the widely-praised non-fiction book, Playing the Game: Inside Athletic Recruiting in the Ivy League, and since its publication in 2004 has worked as a successful college advisor for talented high school athletes as well as dozens of non-athletes on their application process.
His articles on the arts, sports and recreation have appeared in a variety of New England-based magazines and newspapers.
His novel, The Funny Moon, was originally written as a birthday gift for his wife, who encouraged him to revise and improve the story—a collaboration that included many laughs.
Chris is an avid golfer, soccer fan, snow shoveler and walker who lives in Vermont with his wife.
IBPA 2024 Award Winner
The Funny Moon won Silver in the 36th annual IBPA Ben Franklin Awards. Administered by the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), the Benjamin Franklin Awards are regarded as one of the highest national honors for independent publishers.
Launched in 1985, the IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award program is designed to celebrate excellence in independent publishing and select the highest quality from nearly 1,800 entrants.
2024 International Book Award
The Funny Moon has won a 2024 Gold International Book Award from American Book Fest in the humor category. The International Book Awards is one of the world’s largest book award programs for mainstream, indie, and self-published titles.
2024 Reader’s Favorite Award Winner
The Funny Moon has earned a bronze medal from Readers’ Favorite in the fiction/humor/comedy category. Readers' Favorite has earned the respect of publishers and received a record number of submissions this year from independent authors, small publishers, and publishing giants such as Random House, HarperCollins and Simon & Schuster.

Happy to announce THE FUNNY MOON has been named a finalist in the Adult Fiction humor category in the 2023 INDIES Book of the Year Award (established in 1998). The judges (booksellers and librarians) received more than 2,400 entries, spanning 55 genres. The winner announcement will be in June.
